Ministry Updates

Adam Polk   -

Redeeming Grace is blessed with so many people stepping up to serve in various ways.  Whether serving our kids in the nursery, stepping in as a greeter, or providing tasty coffee on Sundays we are blessed with a church full of ready servants.  I just recently shared in our last members meeting that a Sunday morning alone requires about 60 volunteers between Equip and Worship.  Thank you for your generosity in serving!  In light of ongoing ministry needs I wanted to highlight two ministries that have new leadership as of this fall.

Student Ministry

We are grateful to have Brad and Stephanie Schmelzer stepping into the Student Ministry Director role.  Brad and Stephanie have two sons, Jake and Liam, and have served in youth ministry prior to coming to Redeeming Grace.  Shortly after joining us, they began volunteering with our student ministry and this year agreed to serve as the Directors of Student Ministry for the 2024-2025 ministry year.   The Schmelzers will be leading our Sunday evening youth gatherings as well as helping coordinate other events throughout the year.  They’ve got a great group of volunteers helping them out and Mark Lindgren is assisting with admin/logistical support as well.  We look forward to all the Lord will do in our middle and high schoolers this year!

Worship Ministry

We are sad to soon see the Oberg family moving on to Colorado.  Serving as worship arts director Stu has been a blessing in providing leadership to our worship ministry.  We will miss Stu, Abigail, and their kiddos.  In preparation for Stu’s departure, we are excited to share that Patrick Millikin will be stepping into the Worship Arts Director role.  Patrick is married to Stephanie, and they have 4 kiddos – Owen, Anna, Hope, and Evan.  Patrick graduated from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2009 and has 9 years of experience leading worship from college ministry to serving on staff with several churches.  Additionally, while serving in the Marine Corps the last 14 years, he has served on worship teams at churches wherever he has been stationed. We are grateful the Lord has brought Patrick and his family to Redeeming Grace and look forward to his leadership in our worship ministry.  Also, in addition to her role as Communications Director, Katie Hutchison will be providing support to Patrick and the worship ministry as a worship assistant.

We’re truly grateful to see how the Lord provides for his church.  Be praying for Brad, Stephanie, and Patrick as they provide leadership in these important ministries.

We’re excited to see what all the Lord has in store for this new ministry year!
