Bookstall Updates
Reading has often been a struggle for me. I wasn’t one of those kids who tore through novels in a manner of days or carried around the book I was reading as my constant companion. Yet, in seasons of life, I have found myself absorbed in books that have lifted my spirits and drawn me deeper into my relationship with Christ. Just thinking about books like Knowing God, Mere Christianity, and the Lord of the Rings series reminds me of those seasons. And it brings back some of the joy that I had in discovering such helpful insights and glimmers of wonder in the pages of those books.
So, when I was given the opportunity to lead up the Bookstall Ministry, what came to mind were those seasons of being absorbed in an incredible Christian book. And I was (and am still) excited by the chance to help others experience seasons like that as well.
The Bookstall exists to provide our church community with and make people aware of excellent Christian books. With that mission in mind, we happily price books more cheaply than what we can get them for. And this month, we’re doing two things to encourage you to engage with the bookstall. You’ll find some amazing deals on our brand-new sale shelf. Plus, you’ll get a free RC Sproul booklet with every purchase.
So, even if you struggle to read, I want to encourage you to stop by the bookstall. Page through a couple of books. Consider if there’s one that interests you enough to become its new owner. And be assured by the fact that we aren’t trying to make money. We simply want more people in our church community to experience the joy of reading great Christian books.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I should get back to reading…
